The starting points of Jonathan Saunders Fall 2008 collection were Brancusi sculptures, Irving Penn sand collages and science fiction. While these references are seemingly at odds with one another, Saunders' successfully threads them throughout the entire collection. His work is otherworldly and earthy at the same time. And the purity and sophistication that typified a Brancusi sculpture is also evident in this collection.[Brancusi, The Endless Column]
